Litany In Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out, a Damon/Elena picspam

For those of you who may not be aware:
In the corner of TVD fandom where I mostly reside, there is this obsession (I am not kidding. It's an obsession.) with a poet, Richard Siken, and especially his one poem, titled Litany In Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out. The obsession manifests itself in many shapes and forms: people's journals have titles from the poems, the lines from the poems are prompted on all the ficathons, mentioned in metas and focuses of fics, maybe even icons. In this case it's a picspam. What I tried to do started as an impossible idea: combine every line from the poem (which is about 150 lines) with different screencaps of scenes from The Vampire Diaries, focusing on Damon and Elena. TAH-DA. It's here, behind the curtaincut.

ETERNAL thanks to my betas and moral supporters (in order of appearance, I think?): upupa_epops, who not only cheered this idea on and was FABULOUS moral support, but also provided advice and helped with the choices. If it wasn't for you, Marta, this probably would never have become more than an idea. also about the icon: i'm never good at actually giving advice, it would probably be easier if you'd give me the picture so i tried things on it in photoshop and then if i manage something i share my vast knowledge with you? but if you don't want to, i'll try to think of something else, no problem ;)

oh, that silly old thing. well, got assigned a paper to write (a group of four of us), we have until Thursday, and it got assigned today, which lol. And actually our presentation is on Thursday and we have to send him our finished paper by Tuesday. About didactic theories or whatever :D

BUT my Contemporary English 1 is STILL SO GREAT. word classes and phrases and clauses and other stuff, I love it all. Doris/English Grammar OTP ♥

Our Literature teacher is no fun at all and you can't really find meaning in things he says, mostly. Our Linguistics teacher is great, though me and Linguistics are still trying to realize if we're attracted to each other.

Oh I will rant about it. So far, we've had about 3 Didactic Theories lessons and no one's told us so far WHAT DIDACTIC MEANS/what didactic theories are, so, I lol at you occasionally, college. But everything else seems great :) I'm writing a paper on education and its relation to society, which yay.

so, late to this party, but i just wanted to say i love this so much. seriously i love this like a crazy person.

which is a big deal for me because my damon/elena feelings have been so awful lately. mostly a constant stream of: i don't ship you i hate you i hate you i hate you i don't ship you, you are everything i hate, i hate you. and then this: i fuuuuuuuuuuck, i love you. maybe i actually ship you. because i used to love them once. maybe i still do. and this was so good. so many things that are awful and wonderful and complicated, and make them interesting and exciting. and i guess i am super grateful, that you brought those things to my remembrance.

anyway, this was fantastic and you should be super proud. and it awakened, re-awakened, feelings in me and is just great. thanks so much.

ack, i struggle with them so much, cuz i feel like they could be super well done but aren't. they have so much potential! and i channel most of my frustration into hatred, because being invested means frustration and heartbreak and hating them is easier. basically hating them is a defense mechanism. and i get so used to being angry and annoyed by them eventually i forget all the things i used to and still do love about them.

and lol, fangirl problems. but this was super great and moving. :DDD

I've come across this a few times since my intro to the TVD fandom ~a year and a half back, and it may be the ultimate Damon/Elena post of all time (YEAH, I SAID IT) because lbr Siken/them=the ultimate OTP and you facilitated that in the most breathtaking manner and just. RUDE.

Anyway, I dug this up because I've been rewatching s1 in order to forget about this season and it's awfulness, and getting all the ugly feelings (I just watched 1x19 and the scene where he sits down in the dark hallway with her and am practically dying all over again; it's nice to know I really did ship it once upon a time (did I mention I hate this season? :P) and basically I... wanted to inflict even more emotional damage on myself? Life choices, what are they, and all that.

Basically I figured I'd let you know how amazing this thing is two years later, because, as someone who wasn't around during the ~glory days (*sighs even more* WHY CAN'T EVERYTHING JUST BE SEASONS 1-3 FOREVER) that's kind of my jam.
